As earlier communicated, SC Villa host their CAF Champions League preliminary round 1st leg at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.

This follows a meeting held on Wednesday August 14, 2024 at Namboole after stadium contractors Lt. Col Peter Kidemuka revealed the construction of the running track could be interrupted.

The meeting was attended by among others State Minister for Sports and Education, Peter Ogwang, SC Villa President Hajji Ahmed Omar Mandela and UPDF engineering brigade led Lt. Col Peter Kidemuka and the outcome communicated by club CEO William Nkemba.

“We had a meeting where several discussions were held with the management of Namboole and we have come to agreement that our game with Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) will be hosted at Namboole on Saturday August 17 as scheduled by CAF,” Nkemba told the media.

The aggregate winner between Villa and CBE will face the winner between Young Africans of Tanzania and Vital’O of Burundi.
