SC Villa and Vipers SC played out a 1–1 draw in a closely contested Uganda Premier League encounter at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba on Wednesday evening.
The visitors threatened first, with Milton Karisa forcing a save from David Lukwago in the 18th minute.
Vipers took the lead on 64 minutes when Hillary Mukundane powered in a header from Odili Chukwuma’s corner.
Villa responded swiftly, restoring parity just four minutes later through Frank Ssebuufu, who finished off a well-worked move initiated by Hassan Mubiru.
Both sides created late opportunities, with Reagan Mpande going close for Villa and Karisa denied by Lukwago, who earned the man of the match award for his decisive saves.
In the other fixtures, Express secured a narrow 1–0 victory over UPDF thanks to Elvis Ssekajugo’s late strike in the 89th minute.
The forward, introduced in the second half, made an instant impact to hand Express maximum points, and was named man of the match.
Meanwhile, Calvary and Lugazi settled for a goalless draw in a game of limited clear-cut chances.
Junior Andama stood out for Calvary to claim the man of the match accolade.
Vipers remain top of the table with 52 points, while SC Villa stay fourth, level on 45 points with third-placed KCCA after 23 matches played.
