Yunus Sentamu came off the bench to score with literally the last kick of the game to earn Vipers a 1-0 win over Kitara in the first leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup semi-final.
The striker volleyed home inside the area after Kitara defence failed to clear the lines.
Kitara started better and nearly got into the lead when Patrick Kaddu headed off the bar before Jude Ssemugabi sent his effort just wide after getting behind the backline.
Vipers had the better of the second half but missed some good opportunities until Sentamu broke the visitors’ hearts with a strike which leaves them in the driving seat ahead of the second leg in a fortnight.
On Sunday, KCCA host Kataka in the first semi-final at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
