Struggling Giants stop Kitara’s free scoring run

Kitara’s free scoring run was ended by struggling Wakiso Giants on Sunday following a goalless draw at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

After a struggled start to the 2024/25 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season, Kitara put up an impressive scoring spree, plundering 21 goals in five matches.

Kitara started their free scoring run with a 4-0 defeat of UPDF in November before being briefly paused by a goalless draw at Vipers SC.

The Royals returned to winning in December, thrashing Mbale Heroes 6-0, Maroons 4-0, and Express 7-0.

But against a Wakiso side struggling for their own life on Sunday, Kitara hit a brick wall despite relentless attacks of the hosts backline.

Wakiso had lost four in a row before drawing goalless away to Mbarara and now against Kitara.

Kitara’s third draw in 14 matches keeps them in 10th place on 18 points, while Wakiso are third from bottom on 11.
