Seven Premier League fixtures are line-up this Saturday with each holding significant importance either at the top or in the bottom.
Several are fighting for their life in the division while 4-6 are in the race to win the title and match day 28 could prove pivotal as all games kick off at same time
UPDF vs SC Villa – Military Barracks Grounds, Bombo 4pm
It is one of the fixtures that has importance at both ends of the table. The hosts, occupying 15th position with 21 points must win to enlighten chances of survival while Villa, on 48 points, joint second at the moment need three points to keep in the race.
SC Villa won the reverse fixture 3-0 at Wankulukuku in a game the army side finished with 9-men.
NEC vs Vipers – MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo 4pm
At Lugogo, NEC, 6th on 44 points understand that failure to collect maximum points will all but end their faint title hopes while Vipers who are on same points, 49 with BUL at the top cant afford to drop any points at this stage if they are to defend the title.
The Venoms won the first-round tie at Kitende 4-1.
BUL vs Gaddafi – Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru 4pm
Table leaders BUL need victory to stage in charge after match day 28 while Gaddafi also need maximum points to move out of relegation zone especially if Busoga United falter at Kitara.
The Jinja army side occupy the last position in the red zone with 22 points, two adrift of safety.
Gaddafi beat BUL 2-1 in the first round and seek a double over their local rivals.
Kitara vs Busoga United – Masindi Municipal stadium 4pm
Another fixture that holds importance at either end of the table.
Kitara, on 48 points need maximum points while the visitors, 24 points in 13th place also want to keep improving to escape the relegation monster.
URA vs KCCA – Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku 4pm
KCCA could complete a rare double over the tax men and if they do, they will remain in the race although not much depends on them.
The Kasasiro are 5th on 45 points while URA are on 36 points with less to fight for.
Maroons vs Bright Stars – Prisons Grounds, Luzira 4pm
The only game on the day that holds less significance as either side is safe and not in the race.
The hosts are on 39 points in 7th place while Bright Stars are on 31 points in 10th place.
Wakiso Giants vs Mbarara City – Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, Wakiso 4pm
The hosts are not yet safe from the relegation monster and need all points to confirm their premier league status for yet another campaign in the top tier.
Wakiso Giants are on 29 points in 12th place but a win will see them climb up to 9th on the log.
Mbarara City are 11th with 31 points – the Ankole Lions won the first round 2-1 at Kakyeeka.
