For the first time since 2019, football returns to its home, Mandela national stadium, Namboole with two big matches on Wednesday.

First, BUL lock horns with Vipers with both tied on same points 46 and only separated by goal difference as the champions lie second on the log and the Jinja based side 3rd.

With Kitara dropping points at home in the draw against Mbarara City, the two sides which officially re-open the refurbished home of football have a chance to move top of the log.

BUL won the reverse fixture 3-2 at Kitende and will complete a rare double over the Venoms if they pick a win.

A draw will leave two behind Kitara who are on 48 points at the moment although Vipers will still have a game in hand.

Later at 7pm under the lights, SC Villa visit KCCA in a fixture between the two most successful clubs in the history of Ugandan football sharing a record 29 titles.

Villa, 4th on the table with 45 points however have a more realistic opportunity to add on their tally of 16 titles than KCCA who are 6th on 39 points although both have played two fewer games than table leaders Kitara.

KCCA won the reverse fixture at Wankulukuku 3-2 and with their decent record over Villa that stands at 13 wins and just two losses since 2012, they will fancy their chances of denying their rivals.

At the end of the two matches, test events for the official return of the game to Namboole, there could be broken and made records.

Entrance fees are 10K Ordinary and 50K VIP with tickets already on sale at various selling points as designated by the organisers.
