Former winners SC Villa and Police will be keen to keep the leading pack in close proximity with ties against Lugazi and URA respectively.
In the late kick off at Fufa stadium, Kadiba, SC Villa, fresh from handling Mbarara City a 6-1 beating host Lugazi.
The Jogoos must win to keep Vipers within a four-point distance if they are be in the title contention when the second round begins.
With 29 points, they are currently seven points off the top spot while Lugazi, winners over BUL in the last outing are on 14 points, three ahead of the relegation zone.
At Hamz stadium, Nakivubo, Police visit embattled URA with Matia Lule hoping for a swift reaction from his charges after they lost the top of the table clash last week 4-1 to Vipers.
They are now 9 points behind the Venoms at this stage of the campaign and can’t afford to drop points.
On the other hand, URA who got their first point under Hussein Mbalangu in a goalless draw at Calvary want to win to avoid being embroiled in the relegation scuffle come next round.
At the moment, the four-time league champions are on 12 points, just one above the redline and will be more desperate for victory.
At Lugogo, Badru Kaddu faces his former bosses Express FC in a game both sides need to win.
NEC won 1-0 against Buhimba United Saints in their last outing and will be favourites against the Red Eagles who could be without several players linked to the Bugolobi based side when the transfer window opens.
NEC are on 19 points, four better than Express who occupy 10th position at the moment.
Elsewhere, Kitara make a long trip to Yumbe where bottom of the table Calvary is waiting as they aim to pick first three points of the season while Mbarara City are away to Maroons who have drawn their past two league matches.
