The StarTimes Uganda Premier League penultimate round could define the season for several clubs as five matches are lined up on Tuesday at various venues.
At Kakyeeka, table leaders BUL need to win to stay of the log. The Jinja-based side currently leads the table with 52 points and a win could even give them the title if competitors falter elsewhere.
In Mbarara City, they face a tricky opponent who they haven’t beaten in the league in the five fixtures at Kakyeeka losing three of the five.
At Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku, SC Villa hosts bogey side URA aiming to win and at least take the title race to the wire.
Villa are on 51 points and understand that only victory will keep them in the race and they could also move top if they win and Kitara as well as BUL falter.
Kitara will be away at Kavumba Recreation where Soltilo Bright Stars is lurking.
Like Villa, Kitara is on 48 points but sit second ahead of the Jogoos courtesy of head-to-head and if they win, they will have ensured the race goes to the final day.
Reigning champions Vipers will hope to keep tabs on the leading pack with a win at Busoga United who are struggling to stay up.
Vipers have an outside chance of clinching the title but need victory as defeat coupled with wins for either of Kitara, Villa or BUL will ensure their title defence comes to end.
They currently sit fourth with 50 points, two off the top with six points to fight for.
On the other hand, Busoga United, three points off safety need a win to keep survival hopes entirely in their hands.
They are 13th with 25 points with Gaddafi (22) and UPDF (21) lurking just behind.
UPDF will host fellow security forces Maroons at Bombo hoping for a victory to take the relegation fight to the wire as well.
Elsewhere, Wakiso Giants, 11th on 32 points seek to complete their first ever double over KCCA at Lugogo.
The Purple Sharks won the reverse fixture 2-1 at Kabaka Kyabaggu.
