Isma Mugulusi has returned to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after three years joining URA.

Mugulusi has played at Makedonikos in Greece and FK Riteriai in Lithuania after he left Uganda in 2022.

“URA FC is excited to announce the signing of promising attacking midfielder Isma Mugulusi from FK Riteriai of Lithuania,” the club confirmed on its website.

He has previously played for Busoga United and joined SC Villa in 2021 but injury denied him chance to play for the Jogoos before he left for a stint in Greece.

Mugulusi was a crucial part of coach Morley Byekwaso’s squad that secured silver at the TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Championship in Mauritania in 2021 and has already made his senior debut featuring in a couple of matches including Afcon 2023 qualifiers.

Elsewhere, Wakiso Giants have received a double boost with skipper Hassan Ssenyonjo committing his future at the club for the next two years.

The intelligent midfield gem has been at the club for its entirety in the top division and spending more two years with the Purple Sharks will take his time to 7 years – one man club.

In the same breath, the Wakissha based side have re-signed holding midfielder Lawrence Bukenya.

He spent the last six months at Kitara after leaving the Purple Sharks in January and his return boosts the midfield options at coach Steven Bengo’s disposal.
