Vipers SC has confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya.
The lanky custodian returns to the Kitende based side for a second stint after he featured for the club between 2018 and 2021.
“Six-time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC are thrilled to announce the return of highly skilled and experienced goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya to the club,” the club statement partly read.
“Ssekagya has committed to a three-year contract with the Venoms, securing his stay until the end of the 2026/27 season.”
The talented goalie spent the past two seasons at Wakiso Giants where he has been the undisputed number one and is part of the Uganda Cranes Select side playing in the Fufa Super 8.
Ssekagya, a product of the KCCA youth set up has also played for UPDF, Wazito in Kenya and also had a stint at Proline.
For a starting place at Kitende, he will compete with DR Congo import Alfred Mudekereza, ex-national U20 goalie Jack Komakech and Derrick Kiggundu.
Kenneth Kimera, Gusto Mulongo, Derrick Ndahiro, Pedro Sukuya Chimbiambiulo, and Nicholas Wadada are the new faces at the six-time league champions.
Elsewhere, Wakiso Giants also unveiled Tanzania U-20 international Issack Mtegwa on a season long loan from Young Africans.
The right back becomes the second player to join the Purple Sharks from Young Africans after Shaibu and the fourth foreigner at the club joining Zambian Erick Kabamba and Angolan Miguel Nzau.
The club has signed Lawrence Bukenya after his stint at Kitara, Derrick Kaija from UPDF and Hudson Mbalire from Catda.
