Entebbe UPPC 1-0 NEC
Entebbe UPPC claimed their second win of the season on Saturday, stunning NEC 1-0 as the Bugonga-based side, alongside fellow newcomers Buhimba United Saints, continued their steady start in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The match was decided in the 60th minute when Samuel Kawawa converted Gift Odong’s teasing cross, giving UPPC the slender but vital advantage.
While Buhimba United Saints have made the loudest statement so far, topping the 16-team table with nine points from four matches, Abdallah Mubiru’s Entebbe UPPC have quietly gone about their business.
They are now fourth and just two points shy of the leaders. BUL and KCCA, each with eight points, are the only sides between UPPC and Buhimba.
NEC, meanwhile, continue to struggle. Under interim coach James Odoch, stepping in for the suspended Hussein Mbalangu, the side remain winless and sit 14th on two points from three games.
Matchday Five kicks off on Wednesday with Maroons visiting Police, and URA hosting UPDF.
