StarTimes Uganda Premier League – Thursday Result
Entebbe UPPC 1-0 Kitara
The StarTimes Uganda Premier League has gone into a near three-week recess after the completion of the first third of the season, with KCCA, Vipers and SC Villa continuing to set the pace at the summit.
The chasing pack remains tightly bunched. Police occupy fourth place, while UPPC climbed to fifth following a 1-0 victory over Kitara at the Bugonga Fisheries Ground in Entebbe, a result that halted the visitors’ four-match winning streak.
John Kokas Alou scored the only goal of the contest in the 38th minute, finishing off a swift passing move involving Hassan Ssenyonjo and Isa Mubiru as Kitara were caught out defensively.

UPPC enjoyed their best spell either side of the interval, with Steven Munguchi and Isa Bugembe asserting control in midfield and limiting Kitara’s ability to build sustained attacks.
Kitara, coached by Wasswa Bbosa, responded late and were handed an opportunity to rescue a point when Jonathan Gift Odong conceded a penalty in the 84th minute after fouling Jasper Ahebwa. Substitute Emmanuel Wasswa, however, sent his effort wide of the target.
The victory leaves UPPC on 20 points from 11 matches, one point ahead of Kitara, as the league pauses ahead of the next round of fixtures.
