Entebbe UPPC climbed to fourth place in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after a convincing 3-0 victory over 10-man Police at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Friday.

Steven Munguchi scored twice before Ambrose Kigozi added a late third as the Printers moved to 10 points from five matches, two fewer and a game more than leaders BUL.

Police are two places below UPPC on seven points after five matches.

Munguchi opened the scoring in the third minute, heading home Jonathan Gift Odongo’s delivery, before completing his brace in the 28th minute from Reich Kokolo’s assist.

Police’s task became harder when left-back Richard Matovu was sent off on the stroke of half-time after receiving two bookings. 

Kigozi sealed the victory in the 89th minute, finishing a pass from Sharif Ssengendo. Munguchi was named man of the match.

In the night fixture, KCCA edged URA 1-0 to claim a second successive league victory and deepen the Tax Collectors’ early-season struggles.

Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored the decisive goal in the 58th minute, finishing Sammy Ssebaduka’s assist to earn the Lugogo-based side maximum points. Ahimbisibwe was named man of the match.

The victory lifted KCCA to seventh on as many points from five matches, while URA remained 14th on three points from four games.

The results leave BUL top of the table on 12 points from four matches, with NEC and SC Villa both on 11.
