Four-time UPL champions Saidi Kyeyune have announced granting midfielder Said Kyeyune a testimonial moments after confirming the star player will leave.
Kyeyune has spent over 12 years with the tax collectors since joining them from Maroons in 2011 bar a one year away with Proline (2016) and a few months with El Merriekh (2021).
Saidi Kyeyune has been granted a testimonial by URA as he ends his long stay at the club.
“The testimonial match, set to be held at Nakivubo Stadium, the club’s new home for the 2024/25 season, will feature a team that will be announced towards the end of August, just before the start of the 2024/ StarTimes Uganda Premier League,” the club statement read.
“To further honor Kyeyune’s legacy and distinguished service, the club has also considered a gratuity for him.”
Kyeyune helped the club win the Stanbic Uganda Cup and Mapinduzi Cup and twice represented the side in the Caf Confederation Cup.
Only two players have been granted testimonials by their clubs in Uganda – Steven Bengo when he ended his career at Wakiso Giants and Hakim Magumba at SC Villa.
