URA beat Express 2-1 on Friday for only their second win at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on a day Police compounded SC Villa struggles in the one-draw at Wankulukuku.
Enock Walusimbi and Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored URA goals while Sam Ssenyonjo got hosts Express’ consolation.
URA’s fifth win in 12 matches moved them four places up to fifth on 18 points, eight behind leaders NEC.
Express, who were losing just their first match in six managed by coach Badru Kaddu, stayed third on 19 points.
Former Express star Walusimbi headed in URA’s first from Moses Aliro’s corner on 41 minutes before Ahimbisibwe doubled the lead five minutes into the second half after Express failed to defend a corner.
Express pulled one back just after the hour after Ssenyonjo was brought down in the area and he got up to convert from the penalty spot.

The Blues took a 25th minute lead through a Patrick Kakande penalty after Charles Lwanga was fouled in the area.
But Police paid back in equal currency, James Brian Obedi levelling from the penalty spot seven minutes from full time.
Villa, who drew 1-1 with Lugazi and lost 2-1 to NEC before Friday, dropped one place to ninth on 16 points, while Police are three places and a point about them.
