SC Villa put a halt to Vipers’ 19-match unbeaten run with a slim but commanding 1-0 win at Wankulukuku.
Charles Lwanga scored the lone goal in the closing stages of the first half a good interplay that started with Najib Iga before Man of the Match Patrick Kakande backheeled pass found the scorer who slotted home.
The goal which sent wild cheers in a sizeable crowd in the stands proved to be the winner although the Jogoos had more good chances to stretch the lead.
They limited Vipers to few chances as they defended resolutely to ensure Vipers only lead second placed NEC by just two points as their tally remains 49 after 21 games.
It was Vipers’ first defeat since that opening loss to NEC on match day one at Lugogo and takes Villa tally to 30 points in 8th position.
BUL’s perfect second round also came to end with a goalless draw at Kakyeka against Mbarara City.
Abbey Kikomeko’s men however remain third on the table with 36 points while the Ankole Lions are 13th with 23 points.
