SC Villa and Kitara will be out to avenge first round defeats when they take on Mbale Heroes and NEC respectively on Thursday.
The defending champions were beaten 1-0 by returning Mbale Heroes at the Municipal stadium in what was the Jogoos’ second match of the season.
Since then, Villa has only won one match on the road and find themselves seated in 8th position with 30 points, a whole 22 behind leaders Vipers literally putting their title defence to bed.
The Surgeons are bottom of the table with 10 points at this stage and are currently the most suitable side for relegation.
At Lugogo, on form Kitara will be out to revenge the 2-1 defeat at Butema last year at the time, the club was struggling for results.
NEC are chasing their first league title and sit second on the log with 48 points, four behind leaders Vipers and sealing a double over the Royals will bring them within a point of the Venoms.
Kitara beat KCCA 4-0 in their last game while NEC fired blanks with UPDF in a goalless stalemate at Bombo.
In the other match on the day, Police host Mbarara City in a relegation six pointer in a game Matia Lule begins his reign with the Cops as interim head coach.
The two sides are still unsafe and sit just five points off the drop zone which make the game a must win for either.
