BUL will head into the international break at the top of the Startimes Uganda Premier League table after coming from behind to beat Blacks Power 2-1 at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru on Tuesday.

The result extended BUL’s winning run to four matches and ended Blacks Power’s own perfect start.

Oscar Otim put Blacks Power ahead in the 20th minute, but BUL responded through debutant Lawrence Olaboro, who levelled 18 minutes later after being set up by Derrick Byabachwezi.

Olaboro then turned provider again 10 minutes into the second half, setting up Simon Achidi to complete the comeback with his third goal of the season.

NEC moved into second place after a 4-1 victory over URA at Lugogo, recovering from an early setback to secure their third win of the campaign.

URA took the lead inside the opening minute when Mikidad Ssenyonga found Isma Mugulusi, who finished past Hannington Sebwalunyo.

NEC equalised in the 14th minute through James Jarieko, who converted after combining with Emmanuel Ajo.

Richard Basangwa then put NEC ahead before half-time after Enrique Lubwama won possession and set him up, with Lubwama adding a third from a rebound after Ajo’s effort struck the crossbar.

Basangwa completed his brace 10 minutes after the restart, finishing from another Lubwama assist to seal the points.

At Wankulukuku, SC Villa continued their strong start with a 3-0 win over newcomers Kigezi HomeBoyz.

Patrick Kakande opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 14th minute after he was fouled by goalkeeper Norman Angunfindru, before Aslam Ssemakula doubled Villa’s advantage three minutes later with a long-range effort.

Substitute Andrew Otim added a third late on as Villa recorded their third consecutive victory to move to 10 points from four matches.

Kigezi HomeBoyz remain without a win in their first top-flight campaign, although they held KCCA FC to a goalless draw in their previous outing.
