Vipers SC has confirmed partying company with Charles Livingstone Mbabazi over continued absence from work.
The gaffer has missed several matches without explanation and was missing for the last matches as Vipers beat URA and UPDF in addition to earlier absence for the Iganga Young and Wakiso Giants home clashes.
“We announce today that the decision has been taken to part company with our head coach Livingstone Mbabazi,” a statement on the club website read.
“We thank Mbabazi for his contribution and wish him well for the future.”
In the meantime, Richard Wasswa has been promoted to act as a head coach with the club also confirming the addition of Fred Muhumuza to the staff.
“Richard Wasswa will take the team as Acting Head Coach for the remainder of the season, along with Jose Esdras Costa Lopez, Fred Muhumuza, Richard Kasule Bakabulindi & Ali Kimera (goalkeeping coach) as assistants.”
“The search for a new head coach next season (2024/25) is underway and we will make a further announcement when that process is complete.”
Mbabazi leaves Vipers second on the log with three points behind leaders Kitara and in the quarter finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
