Lugazi 1-1 Entebbe UPPC

Vipers SC 0-0 Kitara

Vipers SC and Kitara shared the points after a goalless draw in the Uganda Premier League’s headline fixture at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Friday.

League leaders Vipers had the better of the early exchanges, creating chances through Abdul-Karim Watambala, Milton Karisa and Chukwuma Odili, but Kitara’s defence and goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige stood firm.

Kitara improved after the break and threatened through substitute Edson Agondeze, whose effort forced Denis Kiggundu into action, but neither side found the breakthrough in a tightly contested encounter.

The result keeps Vipers top of the table on 51 points, four ahead of second-placed Kitara on 47. Taddeo Lwanga was named Man of the Match.

In Najjembe, Lugazi and Entebbe UPPC drew 1-1, with both goals arriving in the opening nine minutes.

Abraham Tusubira gave Entebbe the lead in the eighth minute after being set up by Laban Tibita, before Billy Wabwire equalised two minutes later for Lugazi following a defensive error.

The draw leaves Lugazi 12th on 19 points, while Entebbe UPPC move to fifth place on 37 points, level with NEC FC. Action continues on Saturday with SC Villa versus KCCA’s late kick-off the headline clash.
