Reigning champions Vipers and second placed KCCA will aim to end the first round on a winning note with home fixtures against Buhimba United Saints and Entebbe UPPC respectively on Friday.

Unusually, the champions will play at 4pm against the league newcomers at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende.

They will be favourites against who have registered four topflight wins thus far and lost to NEC at home in their most recent outing.

For the Venoms, who are already confirmed first round champions, a win will ensure a three-point gap at this stage with a ‘game in hand’ over the rest of the chasing pack.

In form Karim Watambala and Usama Arafat will again lead the assault on Buhimba after they trounced Police 4-1 in their last outing.

At Lugogo, KCCA who put a halt to a two-match winless streak by hammering UPDF take on Abdallah Mubiru’s Entebbe UPPC in what promises to be an exciting encounter.

KCCA are on 30 points, just three better than the Entebbe based side and are aware that defeat will see them exchange position on the table based on head-to-head.

Besides Mubiru, the visitors have former KCCA players in their ranks in Mustafa Mujjuzi, Steven Munguchi, Julius Poloto and Isa Mubiru who want to prove a point.

In the other game on Friday, wobbling UPDF host wounded BUL at Bombo aware that failure to collect maximum points will leave their survival chances minimal.

The army side have lost their past three matches in a row and with 11 points, they are just above the danger zone on head-to-head with Mbarara City.

On the other hand, BUL want to continue a steady rise on the standings after they suffered a hiccup at Lugazi in the last game.
