Wakiso Giants 0-2 Vipers
Vipers SC officially started new life without Nikola Kavazovic as head coach with victory as they beat Wakiso Giants 2-0 at Kabaka Kyabbagu Stadium on Thursday.
Allan Okello and Milton Karisa were on target for the Venoms as they claimed their third win in five matches to go level on 10 points with leaders KCCA, who have played a game fewer.
This was Wakiso’s second StarTimes Uganda Premier League defeat in five matches and leaves them eighth on seven points.
This was also coach John Luyinda’s first match since the confirmation that Kavazovic had officially parted ways with Vipers.
And Luyinda, who also oversaw – in the interim – the win over SC Villa before the international break, seems to be already enjoying life in the Venoms dugout.
At Wakiso on Thursday, the Venoms largely controlled proceedings against Steven Bengo’s Purple Sharks.
Allan Okello put the visitors ahead from a penalty on 34 minutes after Wakiso Giants goalkeeper James Alitho carelessly fouled forward Milton Karisa.
Karisa later put the victory to safety when he calmly finished off a rebound after an attack initiated by Okello on 62 minutes.
