- Result Nouadhibou 0-0 Vipers [Agg: 1-1, Vipers eliminated on away goals rule]
Premier League champions Vipers were once again eliminated at the preliminary first round of the Caf Champions League following a goalless draw with Nouadhibou from Mauritania.
In an evenly contested match in Nouakchott, Vipers could only settle for a goalless draw despite getting some scoring opportunities through substitutes Yunus Sentamu, Ceaser Manzoki and starters Nicholas Mwere and Hilary Mukundane.
The result meant that Vipers who drew 1-1 in the reverse fixture seven days ago are eliminated and wont progress to the next round where San Pedro of Ivory Coast would be the opponent.
The Venoms now turn attention to defending the league for the third time in a row and return to action on Saturday when they host newly promoted Ntugasaze at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende.
They began their campaign on a losing note suffering a 1-0 defeat to Entebbe UPPC.
