12 UPL stars make Cranes team for Dubai camp

Twelve StarTimes Uganda Premier League stars have been included on the Uganda Cranes squad for the training camp in Dubai.

The team departs on Sunday evening aboard Emirates and will spend ten days in the camp as part of the preparations for the double header against South Sudan in the 2021 Afcon qualifiers due next month.

“A number of players were unfortunately ruled out from consideration for the training camp due to Covid-19 travel restrictions applicable to them, or through injury,” McKinstry told Fufa’s official website.

“However the camp presents a great opportunity for a large quota of the foreign based players alongside the best players in the Uganda premier league to prepare for upcoming AFCON and CHAN engagements.”

Only URA’s goalkeeper Alionzi Nafian was left out of the initial team of local based players summoned.
