Simba 5-0 SCVU
SC Victoria University’s woes continued at Bombo Military Barracks as they suffered a 5-0 defeat against fellow relegation candidates Simba on Saturday.
Veteran Simba skipper Godfrey Wakaza opened the scoring for the army side with a 12th minute goal before Patrick Gonahasa made it 2-0 with four minutes to half time.
After the break, Ezekiel Katende bagged a brace scoring in the 52nd and 77th minute to extend the score line beyond the visitors’ reach.
With two minutes to time, former SC VU midfielder Charles Ssemanda put the icing on the cake with a goal to ensure Simba’s victory.
The two sides exchange positions on the standings although both stay in relegation zone.
Simba on 19 points; same as SCVU are 14th; a slot above courtesy of a superior goal difference.
