KCCA striker Derrick Nsibambi will travel with the team to Madagascar later on Wednesday night despite missing training a day earlier through to an injury.
But the club manager Mike Mutebi is optimistic the club’s lead striker will shake off the discomfort to turn out against CNaPS on Saturday in the first leg of the Caf Champions League preliminary round.
“We need goals and we believe Nsibambi will overcome the blister he is nursing,” Mutebi told upl.co.ug.
“We are not going to play this careful football because my players are creative and adventurous.”
Should Nsibambi fail to shake off the discomfort, Mutebi will have to call on Muhammad Shaban and Patrick Kaddu to carry the mantle.
KCCA were stopped by Mamelodi Sundowns in the first round last season but the Ugandans recovered to go all the to the group stages of the Confederation Cup.
