Cranes striker Emmanuel Okwi will come up against his Simba teammates when Uganda welcome Tanzania on Saturday.

The Cranes take on their neighbours in Group L’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations clash at Namboole this weekend looking to stretch their lead in the pool.

Okwi, celebrated back in Tanzania for his goal scoring prowess, will be enemy number one for the visiting fans on Saturday. The striker is bullish but knows it will not be easy.

“All my teammates are responding well and I believe we shall put up a good performance,” Okwi told upl.co.ug.

“It is a challenge to play against opponents who understand your playing style but we are going to fight and make sure we get three points,” he added.

Cranes coach Sebastien Desabre, who has only one win in nine matches (six of themfriendlies) since replacing Micho Sredojevic late year, cannot overstate the importance of the game.

“Three points against Tanzania are so important to us and we shall fight for the win,” said the Frenchman, Desabre.
