  • Vipers vs Villa – St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende 8pm
  • Maroons vs NEC – Prisons Grounds, Luzira 4pm

Reigning champions Vipers and record winners SC Villa lock horns at Kitende in a clash of the titans.

The two sides could have faced on the opening weekend of the season but the Venoms were on continental duty.

Coming into the game, Villa have won five games in a row and are unbeaten since match day one when they lost to KCCA at Namboole while Vipers are perfect so far with four wins in as many games.

Vipers are on 12 points in 6th place, four behind Villa who are second on the log but with three more games.

Speaking on the game, Vipers’ star boy Allan Okello is confident of continuing the run.

“Everyone is focused and knows the task at hand. Let’s make sure we continue our good start with another win,” said Okello.

“We face a very good side but if we do what we have done in the past games. Fighting and giving everything, we shall win,” he added.

His coach Jacky Ivan Minnaert says the winning DNA in the Vipers dressing room will give them edge over their rivals.

“We don’t have to do something so special because the winning mentality is in the Vipers players DNA.

On Villa’s behalf, Najib Yiga says they are looking to be consistent.

“We are looking forward to being consistent,” he stated. “They are a good side but we are also good. We are not under pressure as the coach gives us freedom to play our game and that has helped us,” he added.

“We go to Kitende confident. We are physically, mentally and emotionally prepared for the game and I believe we can get a positive result there.”

At Luzira, NEC take on Maroons with either side seeking a successive win of the season.

The Bugolobi based side beat Calvary 1-0 in their last outing while Maroons won 3-0 against Lugazi.

Badru Kaddu’s NEC are in 9th position on nine points while Maroons are 13th with a point below.
