Blacks Power FC will officially host their upcoming Uganda Premier League (UPL) home matches at the Bukedea Comprehensive School (BCS) Sports Complex.
This relocation comes after the National Council of Sports (NCS) canceled its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with both Blacks Power and Kitara FC for the use of Hoima City Stadium, the club has confirmed.
The sudden decision by the NCS aims to reserve the Hoima-based facility exclusively for international matches. As a result, both top-flight clubs have been forced to secure alternative venues for their remaining home fixtures of the season.
Both Blacks Power and Kitara FC had originally moved their home games to Hoima after their traditional home grounds failed to meet the strict club licensing requirements set by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).
For Blacks Power, the shift to Bukedea marks a nostalgic homecoming. The club previously enjoyed a stint in the district during its FUFA Big League days when they competed under the name Bukedea Town Council FC, before rebranding to Blacks Power and relocating to Lira.
The BCS Sports Complex is now set to accommodate a busy schedule as it hosts two league teams. Kataka FC is already utilizing the facility for its home matches due to Mbale Stadium’s failure to meet FUFA’s licensing standards.
Blacks Power currently sits seventh in the standings with nine points from six games, while Kitara FC follows closely in eighth position with eight points from four games. Blacks Power will look to leverage the familiar territory of Bukedea to build momentum in their league campaign, while Kitara FC’s management remains under pressure to confirm a new venue for their upcoming fixtures.
