Uganda Cranes coach Mulitin Micho Sredojevic has named 15 StarTimes Uganda Premier League players in the squad set to prepare for the opening two matches of the Afcon 2023 qualifying campaign.
The Cranes begin the campaign away to Algeria on June 4 before hosting Niger four days later at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende.
URA goalkeeper Alionzi Nafian leads the local lads from the UPL in a squad that has usual suspects Halid Lwaliwa, Livingstone Mulondo, Bobosi Byaruhanga and Milton Karisa from champions Vipers SC.
Wakiso Giants attacker Moses Aliro, KCCA’s duo of Sadat Anaku and Rogers Mato, SC Villa Captain Gavin Kizito and Express’ Martin Kiiza and Enoch Walusimbi.
Muhammad Shaban and UPDF right back James Begisa are the other UPL players on the team along with Soltilo Bright Stars midfielder Joseph Marvin Youngman.
The players will enter camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel-Kisasi on Monday 23rd May 2022 at 8am. The training programme will start 10am using the Fast Fusion Indoor Facility and Gym.
