Uganda vs Algeria – Japoma stadium, Doula 6pm Live on FUFA TV
Uganda Cranes host Algeria in a fixture they must win to keep chances of qualifying for the 2023 Afcon finals in Ivory Coast alive.
The 1978 finalists come into the game third on four points, same as neighbors Tanzania who host Niger in Dar es Salam but both nations have same head to head stats.
Algeria already secured a place in the finals with maximum points but Djamal Belmadi has named a strong squad including Westham United forward Said Benrahma and Manchester City play maker Riyadh Mahrez.
Uganda Premier League stars Gift Fred, Siraje Sentamu, Milton Karisa, Rogers Mato and Moses Waiswa are expected to be key for the Uganda Cranes who need maximum points by all means.
A win will take the Cranes closer to qualification regardless of what result Tanzania post against Niger who will be Uganda’s host in the final game.
Head-to-head
The two nations have met 14 time in all competitions with both sides winning five games apiece and drawing the remaining four.
