Proline 0-1 Kirinya-Jinja
Fred Amaku scored the game’s only goal as Kirinya-Jinja opened their Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) second round with a 1- 0 victory at Proline on Saturday.
The burly striker stroked home from inside the 18-yard area in the first half before wheeling away to the corner flag in celebration.
Victory at Lugogo moved coach Charles Ayiekoh’s Kirinya three places up to seventh on 21 points, while defeat kept Mujib Kasule’s Proline just a place above relegation on 17 points.
The visitors showed dogged determination from onset, being fast on every second ball and aggressively hurrying Proline every time the latter were in possession.
And when Amaku tucked home on 29 minutes, there was no breaking Kirinya’s resolve as the Jinja side held on for all three points.
