Arua Hill clamp down on 10-man URA

Tuesday result

Arua Hill 3-2 URA

Hosts Arua Hill SC came from behind to beat 10-man URA 3-2 in a hotly contested StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) match played at the Barifa Stadium in Arua on Tuesday.

A Sam Ssekamatte brace and goal from Alfred Leku ensured coach Livingston Mbabazi’s side claimed all three points after a strike on the stroke of half time and two quick fire ones after half time swung the pendulum into Arua’s favour.

New signing Livin Kabon had given URA the lead on 28 minutes in the Tax Collectors second match of the season.

Cromwell Rwothomio doubled coach Sam Timbe side’s lead two minutes to the break.

But Ssekamatte, a new acquisition from Soltilo Bright Stars, pulled one back from a penalty spot in added time of the first half to send the game into the break finely poised.

The Kongolo meant serious business after the break, Ssekamatte completing his brace three minutes into the second half with a beautiful free kick.

Leku, who was later on 79 minutes sent off for a second bookable offense, sealed the deal two minutes later.

Arua Hill’s Faizul Ibrahim had a game to remember, pulling strings for the hosts as they held on for all three points. He was fittingly handed the Pilsner Man of the Match accolade.

The victory sends Arua Hill, one of the three newcomers to top flight football, up to fourth on the 16-team log on seven points from four games. URA are 12th on three from two matches.
