Arua Hill 2-0 UPDF
Arua Hill won their first match of the 2023/24 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season when they beat the UPDF 2-0 in Adjumani on Friday.
Abdullahi Rashid and Pilsner Man of the Match Gaddafi Wahab scored the West Nile side’s goals for their maiden three points in a game.
Coach Livingston Mbabazi’s men, however, remained bottom of the 16-team table despite their win.
They occupy the bottom spots together with KCCA on four points apiece, with the latter just above Arua Hill because they have scored more goals.
UPDF have now lost their fourth game in eight, which leaves them in 11th place on eight points.
At the Paridi stadium, Rashid put the hosts ahead on 23 minutes courtesy of Ibrahim Orit’s assist.
Wahab, who had an impressive game overall to win the match’s MVP accolade, sealed the win in the 68th minute.
