Friday April 8, 2016, The Saints Vs URA – Namboole @ 4.30pm
When the two sides met early in the league, Moses Basena was in the URA dugout while Haruna Kebba was in charge of The Saints.
Five months later, the two sides face off in the second round duel with Basena in the opposite technical area while Kebba was ousted.
In the shock of the league so far, Vianney Sekajugo scored the only goal of the game that won the newcomers their first game in the top division.
It was one of the reasons the Uganda Cranes assistant lost his job at the Lugazi based side and now, he will be targeting to win against his former bosses.
“We are in a precarious position at the position,” said Basena ahead of the game. “To us, every match is like a final and this is no different. It doesn’t matter who we face, all we need is maximum points to ease our stay in the division,” he added.
The Saints head into the game on the back of a 2-0 loss away to Lweza and will be eager to correct the wrongs that cost them.
Meanwhile, in URA, they face a side hungry to prove their worth after a stop start campaign that has seen them lose five games and lie 3rd on 35 points; nine behind log leaders KCCA with a game more played.
Robert Ssentongo who leads the goal scoring charts with 15 will again be the go to man for the visitors while the hosts will look to U-20 international Yasin Mugume, ex-SC Villa skipper Isaac Kirabira and striker Alex Kitatta for inspiration.
The Saints are fourth from bottom with 19 points from 20 games.
