Vipers SC 3-0 Express
Fahad Bayo continued his scoring form as the Vipers SC striker grabbed a brace and created another goal in his side’s 3-0 thrashing of Express at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Saturday.
Brian Kalumba added the other as the Venoms moved three places up into second place on 17 points, just two behind leaders Bul. Coach Edward Golola’s men also have a game in hand on Bul.
Vipers remain the only unbeaten side in the 16-team league, with Bul and Villa having lost only one a piece.
But in their five victories in seven matches has been one constant jewel, and that is off-season acquisition from Buildcon in Zambia, Bayo.
The striker leads the goal scoring charts with six, with Robert Mukongotya of Bul the closest on four.
And it didn’t take much time for him to get his fifth here, the striker putting Vipers ahead on nine minutes.
Clearly coach George Ssimwogerere’s men, who had for the first time this season won two successive matches coming into this, were in for a long evening here.
Bayo doubled his advantage with his sixth of the league 18 minutes from time before Kalumba added the icing on the cake a minute from full time, a goal assisted by the man of the moment himself. Defeat, Express’ fifth, leaves the Red Eagles in 11th place with 10 points.
