SC Villa 2-1 KCCA
Sixteen-time record league winners SC Villa are still smarting from their 2-1 victory over rivals KCCA at the weekend.
A pitcher of a goal by Allan Kyambadde and the winner from Martin Kizza rendered Awany’s, which came in between, irrelevant as the Blues went away with it.
The hard-fought Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) win left Villa coach Wasswa Bbosa impressed by the unity of the team after weeks of uncertainty at the club.
“We have been working hard to improve unity in the team because a few fans had created divisions in the team as a result of the new players that came in,” said Bbosa. who previously handled bitter rivals Express.
“The players showed great fighting spirit. After losing the lead, it was late but we did not give up.”
The win lifted Villa, who were docked two points for fan violence in the game against Vipers, to fourth position with 12 points after seven games.
That is two points behind leaders Onduparaka, who drew goalless with visiting Vipers in Arua.
