Onduparaka 0-1 SC Villa
SC Villa coach Wasswa Bbosa is full of praises for his players after they gritted out a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Onduparaka in Arua on Saturday.
Godfrey Lwesibawa was the hero for the blues as his eighth minute strike ensured Villa became the first topflight side to win at Green Light Stadium since Onduparaka were promoted two years ago.
“Its a huge morale booster to get a win here because not many teams are going to go to Arua and get three points,” said Bbosa.
“Yes, we scored through a set piece which should actually have been a penalty but the referee opted for the freekick.
“So that tells you what it means to get a win in Arua.
“I don’t see any team playing with a similar kind of determination.”
Bbosa added: “I was pleased because we played according to instructions.
“I told players not to concede fouls near the box.”
The victory, after 20 games, moved Villa to 40 points, four ahead of KCCA and Vipers who have played 18 and 19 games respectively.
Defeat for Onduparaka was their seventh and they stay sixth on the log with 29 points.
“At the moment things are not going our way but Insha Allah we shall work hard and bounce back as soon possible,” said Onduparaka captain Rashid Toha.
