Nelson Senkatuka swill be key against SC Villa

Nyamityobora 2-3 Bright Stars

Bright Stars retained early leadership of the Startimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) with a dramatic come from behind 3-2 victory over Nyamityobora at Wankulukuku Stadium on Wednesday.

They are level on six points with Vipers and Onduparaka but top due to having scored more goals.

Under Fred Kajoba who has built a reputation as a defensive minded coach, Bright Stars have now scored six goals in two games.

They trailed 2-0 at half time with Nyamityobora’s Patrick Gonahasa and Ibrahim Dada punishing them for a slow start.

But two changes at half time helped turn the tide.

Captain Nelson Senkatuka was instrumental in all three goals scoring a penalty just after restart before setting up Alfred Onek for the equalizer on the stroke of full time.

His run and low centre then set up the third for Brian Kayanja in added time to cap an unlikely comeback.

“We had two changes coming into the game,” said Senkatuka, the Bright skipper.

“It disrupted us a bit but the coach organised us in the second half.

“We really needed to win the opening two games because we have to tough games coming up against Villa and KCCA.”
