Express settled for their seventh draw of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) season as they opened up their second round of the campaign with a goalless stalemate away to Soltilo Bright Stars on Monday.

This barren draw followed another drab affair a day earlier, where SC Villa’s indifferent season continued with yet another goalless draw at UPDF in Bombo.

SC Villa’s six draws, as many losses and just four wins have the 16-time record league winners in 10th place on a 16-team table with just 17 points. The UPDF are a place and three points above them.

Back at Kavumba on Monday, it is actually hosts Bright Stars that looked slightly the hungrier side, although none really looked like they seriously .

Bright Stars’ Emmanuel Loki shot wide from a good position, while captain Nelson Senkatuka could not muster enough power in his drive inside the six-yard box.

For coach Wasswa Bbosa’s Express, there was little or no thrust going forward, especially with star men Eric Kambale and Godfrey Lwesibawa missing in action.

Martin Kiiza, Joseph Akandwanaho and Charles Musiige were the supporting cast behind striker George Ssenkaba but gave Bright Stars no serious challenge.

The Red Eagles are fourth on 28 points, while Bright Stars are third from bottom on 12.
