AUPL result
KCCA 0-0 Bright Stars
KCCA peppered Bright Stars defensive units all evening on Tuesday but could not go past goalkeeper Hamza Muwonge as the champions posted their second goalless draw at home.
The result did move KCCA to second place with 10 points, one behind new leaders Kirinya-Jinja, but the champions missed an opportunity to go top.
For Brights Stars assistant coach Paul Kiwanuka, it was an “earned” Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) “point” rather than a lost one.
The Matugga side are 10th with seven points.
This was KCCA’s fourth draw in six matches. Yes, early days but this is not a trend the defending champions envisaged to fight for their title in.
Bright Stars goalkeeper Muwonge tipped over Patrick Kaddu’s header in the first half before stretching at full length to also tip Mustafa Kizza’s freekick late in the second half.
Allan and Tito Okello, and Paul Mucureezi all came close to scoring for KCCA but for Muwonge and the crossbar.
