Bright Stars 1-0 Sadolin
URA 2-2 Lweza
Bright Stars picked their second victory of the Azam Uganda Premier League (UPL) season with a 1-0 home win over Sadolin Paints at the Champions Stadium in Matugga on Tuesday.
Self Batte grabbed the game’s only goal a minute from time as coach Fred Kajoba’s men moved two places up to fifth on eight points, four behind leaders KCCA.
Defeat for Sadolin, their third in five matches, keeps them at the bottom of the 16-team table with just two points.
Across in Lugazi, URA missed a glorious opportunity of moving within two points of KCCA after they were held 2-2 by Lweza.
Shafiq Kagimu put the hosts ahead on 16 minutes but Owen Kasule brought Lweza, who came into this tie on the back of a goalless draw with Villa, level after the half hour mark.
Lweza then took a surprise lead on 74 minutes, James Kasibante on the scoresheet but Ali Moses Feni spared the taxmen blushes with an equalizer 10 minutes from full time.
The result was an anti climax for URA, who came into this fixture on the back of a 3-1 victory over JMC Hippos, which was also incidentally their first win of the campaign.
The dropped points see coach Kefa Kisala’s URA drop one place to seventh with as many marks.
Lweza will count their point as one gained as it lifted them three places up to ninth on five points.
