CAF Confederation Cup, preliminary round, first leg
Saturday, Sept 10
BUL FC 0-0 Future FC
BUL FC made their continental bow with a decent result as Uganda’s representatives played their first ever CAF Confederation Cup.
The Jinja side and Egyptian outfit, Future FC – also fellow continental debutants, all failed to see the back of the net at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Saturday.
Both teams will fancy their chances when they meet again in the return leg of this preliminary round in a week’s time.
BUL had chances through Ibrahim Kazindula, Hillary Onek, Ibrahim Mugulusi and second half substitute Frank Kalanda but the visitors held firm.
Future themselves had their own chances from Omar Kamal, Mohamed Farouk and Ahmed Atef’s bicycle kick but could not make them count.
Any score draw in Egypt would see BUL progress to the next round while victory for any of the two would advance them.
