Stanbic Uganda Cup
Semifinal 2
Bul 1-0 Express
Final
Vipers SC vs Bul
StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) champions, Express, officially ended their 2020/21 season with defeat to Bul on Thursday.
The 1-0 defeat at the Fufa Technical Centre in Njeru sees the Jinja side, Bul, make their first ever Stanbic Uganda Cup final in the club’s history.
Teenager Owen Mukisa, one of several youngsters promoted from Bul’s junior team, scored the game’s only goal in the first half.
Coach Alex Isabirye’s boys will now face Vipers SC, who eliminated Police two days earlier, in the final.
Mukisa’s goal for Bul arrived on 26 minutes when he curled in past Express goalkeeper Denis Otim after controlling a half-hearted clearance.
This is the second successive Cup Express are exiting in less than a week.
Just last week, they were eliminated by Sudan’s Al Merrikh from the Caf Champions League on away goals rule.
But this does nothing to dampen a hugely successful season for the Red Eagles, who won the league title as well as the Kagame Cecafa Cup.
