BUL, Onduparaka wrap first round in style

Onduparaka won their first match of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League season on a day they, together with BUL, scored a total of 10 goals on Wednesday.

The Caterpillars hit the UPDF 5-1 at Green Light Stadium in Arua while BUL easily dispatched Maroons 5-0 in Luzira to end the first round on a high.

Dennis Ojara hit a second half hat-trick for Onduparaka after Dominic Abonga and Emmanuel Otti had rendered Ezekiel Katende’s early lead for the visitors inconsequential.

This was Onduparaka’s first win this season. The Caterpillars, however, stay bottom of the log on seven points from 14 matches.

The UPDF are just one place out of relegation on 10 points.

In Luzira, Martin Aprem, Ronald Otti, Ivan Wani, Ibrahim Kazindula and Hillary Onek were all on target has BUL hit Maroons by five unanswered goals.

BUL’s eighth victory in 14 matches saw the Jinja side dislodge defending champions Vipers SC from second place on goal difference. They each have 27 points.

Maroons’ fifth defeat in 14 games sees the Luzira side complete the first round in 10th place on 15 points.
