Friday April 15, 2016, Vipers Vs Bul – Buikwe @ 4.30pm
After ending their home jinx against Express a week ago, Jinja based Bul are now plotting to bring a halt to their bad run away at Vipers.
Vipers have reigned dominant when hosting Bul winning three of their four fixtures and losing none.
Vipers squeezed a 2-0 win over Soana in their last home outing with goals in each half by Erisa Sekisambu and David Owori and the win away to Bright Stars took defending champions to within six points of table leaders KCCA with a game to spare and thus believe the race is still open.
Coach Edward Golola (now assistant to Nsimbe) was in charge of the Buikwe club when they drew in the first leg and knows the challenge Bul can offer.
“Bul is not a side to take for granted,” he told upl.co.ug. “They’re a good side and will be seeking to upset us but we are going to play an attacking game,” he added.
Golola hailed improvements in each passing game but warned his charges that any slip up will be punished.
“We are playing better with each game; the boys are competitive and aware that any further slip ups will bury our title chances.”
Bul are expected to have suspended coach Alex Isabirye back soon but his deputy David Kiwanuka is optimistic the club can overturn the bad history.
“We broke the jinx against Express and we can achieve same against Vipers,” he said before recalling how hurt his boys were in offering the guard of honour to the champions last season.
“The game in the corresponding fixture last season hurt the boys with a guard of honour. It was kind of humiliation for those who were around and want a revenge,” Kiwanuka said.
The two sides played out a goalless draw in the first leg in Kakindu.
