Sunday’s result

Bul 2-1 SC Villa

SC Villa’s dark horse tag suffered some dents as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Bul in Jinja on Sunday.

There was some periphery belief that the Jogoos could maybe steal in behind leaders Vipers and KCCA if the frontrunners continuously blinked.

But that Bul intervention hardly strengthened that belief on Sunday.

Third on StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) log at 40 points, the Jogoos remain 10 behind leaders Vipers and six adrift of KCCA.

Villa led through Ronald Mwagari on 15 minutes after the forward headed in Yayo Lutimba’s cross.

Former Jogoo Joseph Ssemujju then scored the equalizer before the half time.

Ssemujju then scored the winner late in the second half after turning defender Moses Nsubuga to finish off a fast break. Bul are now sixth on 33 points.
