Express 0-1 Bul

Kirinya-Jinja SS 0-0 Onduparaka

Bul delivered Express a heavy blow while rescuing themselves from their own pain as they beat the Red Eagles 1-0 away at Wankulukuku on Tuesday.

Milton Kaliisa’s only goal of the game did not only condemn Express to their first defeat of the campaign, it handed Bul and coach Frank ‘Video’ Anyau their maiden victory in five matches of the Azam Uganda Premier League (UPL).

The striker’s close-post finish off a throw-in on 28 minutes moved the Jinja-based Bul four places up to 10th on five points.

Express did have Anyau’s team on the back foot for the better part of the second half but never looked like finding a way through, save for substitute Herman Wasswa’s dismissed penalty shout.

In Jinja, visitors Onduparaka did not replicate their huge victory over KCCA but did manage a point off Kirinya in the goalless draw.

The result meant a point earned for Kirinya-Jinja, who moved two places away from the relegation zone to 12th on four points. Onduparaka move to six points but stay eighth.
