Future FC (0) 1-0 BUL (0)
Future FC (Egypt) advance 1-0 on aggregate
BUL striker Karim Ndugwa believes the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) side will have taken good lessons from their elimination on the continent.
The 10-man Ugandan representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup lost 1-0 to Future FC in Cairo, Egypt on Saturday, with both sides making their first appearance on the continent.
The result meant the Egyptians progressed to the second round 1-0 on aggregate following a goalless draw at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende last week.
BUL also saw their player, Walter Ochola, sent off on 27 minutes after dangerous play on an opponent, leaving the visitors to play over an hour with 10 men.
“We didn’t have enough experience required at this level and I was not surprised to see that red card early on,” BUL striker Ndugwa told the Daily Monitor.
The hosts made their numerical advantage count, Cameroonian left-back Jonathan Ngwem’s curving in a free-kick on 76 minutes for the eventual winner.
“But that is football,” added Ndugwa, “We shall build on that going forward.”
Future will now play Kallon FC of Sierra Leone, who ejected Benin side Buffles du Borgou 4-0 on aggregate, in the next round.
