Busoga United 2-0 Blacks Power
Hosts Busoga United recovered from a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Maroons last week to put their own victim to the sword on Wednesday.
StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) newcomers were the victims at Kakindu Stadium, the Lira side falling 2-0 on the day.
Ibrahim Kayiwa and Franco Magera Balabala scored Busoga’s goals.
This was Blacks Power’s second successive defeat, the first a 5-0 crushing loss to BUL at the weekend.
Busoga’s first victory lifts them from the bottom to fifth with three points on the 15-team log after just two games of the season.
The hosts went ahead inside three minutes when Laban Tibita picked out Mugwa Bashamu from a corner kick, the latter heading it back across the face of goal and Kayiwa directing it with his head to the back of the net.
Blacks Power again switched off early in the second half as their captain Simon Opio handled inside the forbidden area and infront of the referee, William Oloya.
The man in black pointed to the spot and Balabala firmly planted the kick into the top right corner to make it 2-0 and game down on 51 minutes.
